For the past six months or so I have been on the new “Green Team” here at Delta Hotels and Resorts Corporate Office. It’s been an enlightening experience and it has also been great to connect with some other people who share similar thoughts when it comes to the environment and steps we can take to protect it for future generations.
Our newest adventure has ben finding an organization that we want to support with our fund raising efforts. We had been bouncing back and forth a number of great organizations from the David Suzuki Foundation to World Wildlife Fund and Climate Project Canada. But when the dust settled, we let the office decide and put it to a vote. The overwhelming favorite was Ontario Provincial Parks! An organization that I can really get behind as I spend a lot of my free time in the summer camping and using these spaces as a rejuvenation grounds. Our partnership is just beginning, but it has great potential and hopefully it will only grow from here.

In the last few months Daniel Murphy Design has really been picking up steam. More referrals and RFP’s than I have ever had, and it has been very exciting. To see what began as a little side venture blossoming into what could be something more has been an amazing thing to witness. Between my 9-5 and my freelance work I am keeping busy and super motivated. Doing a wide range of work in a wide range of areas has been expanding my online awareness in incredible ways.
Whether it is at Delta Hotels taking care of PPC campaigns and SEO, or building ground up websites for our company’s restaurant outlets across the country, or creating new online presence for companies and non-profits that have never had it at Daniel Murphy Design, my work has been rewarding, and I’m looking forward to the oppourtunities that continue to arise in the future.
I am currently working with the Markham Crisis Pregnancy Centre to give them a brand new website which will give them the ability to reach people in need in brand new ways, and hoopefully change lives for the better. To be able to do work that I love, that matters in real ways, is the most I can ask for in a project.
So here’s to what the future holds.
